Applies To Product(s): AutoPIPE, Version(s): 2004, XM, & V8i Environment: N/A Area: Output  Subarea: Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group Item #1: The program incorrect compute MAWP(20C, new), MAP(20C, new)for cladding.  The calculation of the Heat Exchanger, the program does not allow the adaption for clad bottom plate of corrosion allowance 0mm. I can not change the the corrosion allowance for clad bottom plate.  Answer: The clad thickness is always considered like a corrosion allowance in AutoPIPE Vessel. To resume, if you input 1 mm of cladding, that is exactly the same thing as if you input 1mm of corrosion allowance. Item #2: In the calculation report for a double stacked heat-exchanger with the Pressure vessel design code set to ASME VIII DIV.1,  saddle No 1 (top) |Mzz| = RaH . H, and was verified by my hand calculations. However, for saddle No1 (bottom) this is not the correct calculation, How does the program calculate |Mzz| for the bottom? Answer: That is correct. The equation for |Mzz| is different for the bottom than for the top saddle. The equation for |Mzz| bottom would be: Mzz = Rah*Hb + Rah*(2*Hb+H) Hb = height of the bottom saddle H the height of top saddle A new enhancement will be logged to document this equation for future reference.  Item #3: Microprotol mistakenly calculations flange connection loaded External Loads.  Answer: External loads on flange are considered as an equivalent pressure to major or reduce design pressure. See attached file for the calculation of the equivalent pressure. All calculation using a pressure will be by way the different if there is external loads applying on flange ( at equivalent design pressure).
