* * * THIS VERSION HAS NOT YET BEEN RELEASED * * * What is New & Changed in AutoPIPE® AutoPIPE CONNECT Edition version 12.4 (v12.04.00.13:2020-07) The following outline identifies new features and enhancements in the AutoPIPE CONNECT Edition version 12.04.00.13. Piping Codes Added the 2017 edition of DNVGL-ST-F101 Submarine pipeline systems piping code (previously named DNV-OS-F101). Improvements include results options to assist with user control, Mill Pressure Factor k and a (mpt), updated bursting check, material properties, and added Ovality limit checks and compliancy notes. Interoperability AutoPIPE can now import CAESAR II 2019 neutral files. The PCF Translator mapping file now includes item descriptions and support tags. Library The Library Editor interface has been redesigned to facilitate proper management of Material Library data. General Load combinations included in another stress-level combination are now highlighted in the code and non-code grids. Reference points can now be added when inserting Anchors. Global and local axes coordinate systems can now be toggled on and off. The new Image Gallery tool enables the management of custom images associated with each model. These images can be easily incorporated into any AutoPIPE Microsoft® Excel® and Microsoft® Word® report. [ Technology Preview ] Watermarks and Notes have been added to more clearly indicate Academic Licenses. The Recent Models dialog now provides options to customize the models displayed - Pin, Un-pin, Remove from List, Remove all Un-pinned Items. To improve the overall AutoPIPE experience, a feedback mechanism has been implemented providing the ability to comment on anything AutoPIPE-related. AutoPIPE's interface now features a Black theme - the highest-contrast visual for your background. Security Release Notes Not applicable to this release. It is integrated with Bentley's Identity Management System (IMS) and the Bentley CONNECT technology platform to allow near real-time reporting of usage, improved alert messaging to users and increased administrative capabilities to license administrators in your organization. It will not only give you more options to monitor and manage usage but also provide new, advanced licensing features that will enhance digital workflows. Activation With Subscription Entitlement Service, all users must be registered with Bentley's Identity Management System (IMS) and sign in to the CONNECTION Client to access Bentley applications. Product activation will now occur through user sign-in to the CONNECTION Client with a valid IMS ID associated with their account. User sign-in will replace traditional activation keys, offering enhanced security as administrators will be able to control which users have access to Bentley software. License entitlements are granted and maintained through Subscription Entitlement Service's Entitlement Management Service . By signing into the CONNECTION Client users can also find their organization's projects, download software updates, receive relevant notifications, and track their usage. Alerts Subscription Entitlement Service features the new license alerts notifications that can be set by an organization's license administrators to let the users know when they reach a set usage threshold. These notifications will alert the users that if they continue to use the product, a term license may be issued. The user in such a situation has the choice to quit the application before a license is used or acknowledge that a term license may be generated and proceed with starting the application, based on what settings the administrator chooses. Error History AutoPIPE v12.4.0 The following outline identifies all major errors fixed in Release of AutoPIPE v12.4. Defect 1101733:Expansion and modulus of elasticity values for standard material "AU-TYPE 309" are incorrectly retrieved for "B311-86" and "B311-92" material libraries at temperatures higher than 900 deg F Expansion and modulus of elasticity values for standard material "AU-TYPE 309" are incorrectly retrieved for "B311-86" and "B311-92" material libraries at temperature values higher than 900 deg F. Code dependent material "A312-TP309" references the standard material "AU-TYPE 309" for expansion and modulus of elasticity data, and hence is also impacted. Using incorrect expansion and/or modulus of elasticity values may result in incorrect forces and moment, leading to unconservative stress results. Defect 1096446:ASME B31J: SIF values for Unreinforced Fabricated tee with sloped configuration may not be calculated correctly ASME B31J: SIF values for Unreinforced Fabricated tee with sloped configuration may not be calculated correctly Defect 1093263:Properties for SA671-C70-22 code dependent material may not be retrieved correctly when using ASME2004, ASME2007, or ASME2009 material library Material properties for SA671-C70-22 code dependent material may not be retrieved correctly when ASME2004, ASME2007, or ASME2009 material library is selected. The impacted material properties are the allowable, yield, and design stress intensity values at all of the temperatures listed (-20 degF to 700 degF). The program may return values greater than the actual values for these allowable material properties, leading to unconservative results. Defect 1087906:ASME NC/ND: Allowable case for Sh, Sy in Eq. 9 is incorrectly used for 1980+1980S add. and earlier editions ASME Class 2 and Class 3 editions 1980S and earlier recommend the evaluation of occasional allowable at design temperature. However, AutoPIPE's stress summary is incorrectly using the hot allowable of the temperature for the associated equation 10 entries regardless of what is selected in the "Allowable case for Sh, Sy in Eqn. 9" dropdown. This may lead to higher, unconservative equation 9 allowable values. Defect 1033576:Density and Poisson's ratio may not be updated correctly when switching material library When material library for a model is changed to a custom library or library for another code/edition, program retains the density and Poisson's ratio values from the previously selected material library for materials with same names in both libraries. This may cause the program to incorrectly calculate forces and moments based on the previous material library density and Poisson's ratio, leading to unconservative stress results. Shear modulus is calculated using Poisson's ratio, which may also be affected due to incorrect Poisson's ratio. All other material properties are updated automatically when material library is switched. Defect 1101096:Pressure extension forces and moments not considered for B31.3 and B31.1 2018 sustained combinations at 0 pressure Pressure extension forces and moments not considered for B31.3 and B31.1 2018 sustained combinations at 0 pressure Defect 1090084:DNV 2012&2017: Design factors selections made on DNV Results options are not retained upon opening same model Design factors selections made on DNV Results options are not retained when the model is closed and re-opened. Actually program is not detecting changes made on Design factors tab of DNVR options dialog while closing the model. Defect 1089792:Support optimizer: Result Model option: Occasional load in hours field is resetting to 0 (NTL Roundtrip) Support optimizer: Result Model option: Occasional load in hours field is resetting to 0 for the scenarios generated and executed by the support optimizer . Defect 1089789:Support Optimizer: Weld reduction factor is resetting in scenarios (NTL Roundtrip) Support Optimizer: Weld reduction factor is changed for the scenarios generated and executed by the support optimizer. Defect 1085139:Support Optimizer: Pipe Data inputs may be different in scenarios Support Optimizer: Pipe Data inputs may be different in scenarios generated and executed by the support optimizer. Defect 1083192:Support Optimizer: Models with Non Standard pipe sizes may not give correct results (NTL roundtrip) Support Optimizer: Models with Non Standard pipe sizes may not give correct results due to a differences in pipe properties between the original model and the scenarios generated and executed by the support optimizer. Defect 1083320:ASME B313 Material Library: Incorrect allowable stress, yield strength, or thermal expansion data for some materials ASME B31.3 material libraries (B313-04 through B313-16) contain some incorrect material properties data. Material properties such as allowable stress, thermal expansion, or yield strength may be inconsistent with the piping standard. The code dependent materials affected are B241-6061-T6, B241-6061-T6W, B247-6061-T6, and B584-C92200. Other than these, the standard material copper (Cu) and any code dependent materials using copper as standard material are also impacted by this defect. Defect 1061807:Time History Profile (*.THP) file with time and/or load values having more than ten characters may generate incorrect Time History results Time history load cases use Time History Profile (*.THP) files to read time/load data pairs during time history analysis. Even though time/load pair is comma separated in the time history profile file, program only reads the first ten characters (including blanks) for the time values of each time/load pair in the Time History Profile file. The trailing characters in excess of ten characters for time values are not read during analysis, which may result in incorrect time history results. Defect 1062015:ASME NC/ND: B2 stress index and allowable calculations for a reducer may use incorrect pipe properties and pressure temperature data For the negative face at the far end of a reducer, allowable and B2 stress index calculations may incorrectly use Pipe Properties and Pressure/Temperature data from the following pipe. These properties include cold allowable (SA), hot allowable (Sh) and material code. Using these incorrect values may results in higher eq. 10a allowable, higher eq. 11 allowable and lower B2 stress index which is unconservative. This issue will be limited to the cases where the reducer and following point have different pressure, temperature and/or different pipe material properties. Defect 1081565:ISO 14692: Multiplication factor is not evaluated correctly for tees ISO 14692, part 3, section D.2.3.4 states that the stress multiplication factor for tees shall be 1.4/(lambda)^0.25, however AutoPIPE evaluates as 1.4/(lambda)^0.5, leading to excessively high values in stress. Additionally, D.2.3.4 recommends the multiplication factor NOT exceed 3.0, though there are no checks in AutoPIPE for this condition. The program help is also incorrectly referencing D.2.2.4 for tee multiplication factors, though it should be D.2.3.4. Defect 109893:Tracker#:3893 - Program hangs after copy/paste of a tee If 2 or more segments of the tee is included in a copy operation with the tee point as the base point and then pasted to an existing point in the model, a subsequent copy operation that includes the pasted tee causes the program to hang. Defect 1089476:Y factor should not be considered in calculations of Hoop stress and ASD category for DNV 2012 and later editions Y factor should not be considered in calculation of Hoop stress for ASD calculations and that the Hoop Stress should be calculated exactly as per the DNV code requirements for ASD (Use mean diameter for Hoop stress calculations) NOTE: Please contact Bentley TSG for more details.
