Are there regulatory elements that warrant to leave the choice to the user for the calculation of the nuts and bolts of the brackets? Answer: The default option in AutoPIPE Vessel is to consider the section at "Tensile stress" area. There is also nothing specified in the code for the use of a pitch of 3 mm for a bolt diameter greater than 24 mm (recommended Good Practice). A new feature has been logged TFS-D103129: Bolting area used in ASME for flange calculation. This feature will print out a message when a calculation in ASME used the bolting area option "Tensile stress" Item #2, Body Flange Tab: Nozzle of bolts in vessel / Exchanger – Can AutoPIPE VESSEL calculate the number of bolts required if users deigns with wrong number of bolts?
