Applies To Product(s): AutoPIPE, Version(s): 2004, XM, & V8i Environment: N/A Area: combinations Subarea: Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group Comments, Questions, and Answers about Non-code combinations in AutoPIPE Item #1: How to set up a non-code combination to print 0.3*gravity when axial displacement at a support exceeds 1/8" in thermal load case? Answer : We apologize for the inconvenience, but there is no mechanism to have a combination set up based on a value result in another combination. You can filter the output report based on values (see Results Filter Criteria) , but you would still need to manually create the combination that can be enabled to be printed or not (see Tools Combination non-code tab print option).    Item #2:  I can not get the pressure into my calculation report.  I have defined it in the pressure and temperature definition - I ned to make a load combination of GR+T1+P1. Additionally I want to have the loadcase "hydrotest". I need restraint reactions from: P1, Combined GR+T1+P1 and hydrotest. Answer: First create a Hydrotest case using Load Hydrotest, and then under Loads Static Analysis Sets be sure to check ON: Gravity, Temperature, and "Calculate pressure extension cases, e.g. P1, P2, etc". Now create a 2nd analysis set with only Hydrotest enabled.  After the analysis sets have been defined, run the analysis and select Tools Combinations   non-code comb tab. Note that the GRT1P1 & Hyrotest load case have already been created. Item #3: Can we modify the default Combination Name like "Gravity" to "GW"? Answer:  I apologize for the inconvenience, however the default names are hard coded in to the program and cannot be changed. Only option is to create new user combinations that are saved to a combination file (*.CMB) and import them into new models as needed. See online help for "Import Combination File" details and instructions. Item #4: Once a User-Define Combination name is created AutoPIPE does not allow to Modify them. We would like to have the cap ability to rename or modify them. Answer:   I apologize for the inconvenience, however the default names are hard coded in to the program and cannot be changed when the User Non-Code or Code Combinations dialog is opened. You have the following options: A. Modify the User Non-Code Combinations names under the column labeled "Combination" in the grid of the Load Combinations dialog. Only the User combinations names can be modified, the default names are grayed out. OR B. Delete an exiting combination and then re-create a new user combinations with the correct name and settings as needed Item #5: In relation with Item #4 above, the User-Defined Combination is always listed last or at the bottom of the list. We would like to have the capability to manipulate the list of Combination such that we can insert the User-Define Name in the list to have an output tailored to our usage or needs. Answer: The combinations dialog requires that the individual load combination be listed before the combination where the load cases will be used in a combination. For example, Non-code combination GrT1P1 can not be listed before each of the other individual load combinations( Gr, T1, or  P1). Wrong combination listing: Gr GRT1P1 T1 P1 The correct combination listing must be: Gr T1 P1 GRT1P1  AutoPIPE does export a results database file where the user can modify the reports as desired with a program like MS Access.  See online help for export MBF file for details. In conclusion, the development team realizes the user would like a more tailored output report. There are plans for a complete over haul of the report facility to make it more user friendly and easily customizable for the individual user. Please keep an one on our future releases for this feature.  However for AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.00.xx and lower Item #6: How to automatically find the MAX load case from a group of load cases in an AutoPIPE model Item #7:    Is this a Valid combination using AutoPIPE?
