Applies To Product(s): AutoPIPE Version(s): ALL; Area: Installation Date Logged & Current Version September 2023 23.00.00.230 Problem: The following messages appear when trying to use Microsoft Word after installing AutoPIPE 23.00.00.230: Microsoft Word Word cannot start the converter NPDFCG_x64 Microsoft Word The function you are attempting to run contains macros or content that requires macro language support When this software was installed, you (or your administrator) chose not to install support for macros or controls OK Microsoft Microsoft Word 16 We're sorry but this feature appears to be broken and needs to be repaired. Use the Programs and Features option in the Windows Control Panel to repair Microsoft Office. Solution: This version of AutoPIPE installs and uses Microsoft Office 64bit files (Microsoft engine 2016 X64). . In the case above, the user is using Microsoft Office 32bit applications. AutoPIPE 2023 does not install the correct divers for Microsoft Office 32 bit. Avoidance: This issue has been investigated and their are 2 possible solutions: 1. Delete the following registry Key: a. Open the Registry Editor by typing “regedit” in the Windows search box under the Start menu and select ‘regedit.exe’. b. Delete or rename the “mso.dll” registry value in the following registry key: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\16.0\Common\FilesPaths HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Office\14.0\Common\FilesPaths Note: If you do not delete the “mso.dll” registry value, you may get a “Reconfiguring” message every time you open up an Office application. or 2. A permanent solution would be to install MS Office 64-bit and remove all MS Office 32 bit reference / applications.
