Problem:
What does the following warning mean from the model consistency check report and how to resolve?
W726-195:Support D10 1-Zero length from 'supported' to 'connected' point
Answer:
A support has 2 connection end points, Supporting and Supported:
Supporting, node point that is being supported (i.e. D10) by a support
Suppported, location that the support is connected to (ie. Ground, or beam/pipe node point).
This warning (W726-195) is being displayed because the 2 points have exactly the same coordinates. Typically the 2 points should have different coordinates.
Example: if a pipeline is resting on a beam, the pipe node point (A02) directly above the beam node point (M2) are seperated by the centerline distance between the beam and pipe.
Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Modeling Approaches> Modeling Approaches> Frames for 3 methods of connecting pipe supports to beam/frame structures.
