Our firm's IT division plans to introduce "BitLocker" to secure our HDD. As the effect of BitLocker, probably all data is encrypted including our data server. -Please let us know whether there is any problem/impact to use AutoPIPE on a OS BitLocker is running. Answer: From Microsoft web page : What is BitLocker? How does it work? BitLocker Drive Encryption is a data protection feature available in Windows 7 Enterprise and Windows 7 Ultimate for client computers and in Windows Server 2008 R2. BitLocker provides enhanced protection against data theft or exposure on computers and removable drives that are lost or stolen, and more secure data deletion when BitLocker-protected computers are decommissioned as it is much more difficult to recover deleted data from an encrypted drive than from a non-encrypted drive. If Users have access to the Encrypted Drive, all Data will be available to them as normal. Furhtermore, at this time there is no visible compatibility issues have been reported about computers running AutoPIPE on a Bitlocker system. However, there may be a minimal amount of performance loss due to the extra processing with the encryption software. If you encounter a problem, please log a Bentley service request.
