TR Number: none Product: AutoPIPE Version: n/a Area: General Problem ID#: 77491 solution 500000092419 Answer: How can I access the error reports? There are 2 locations to look: 1. See the following file installed with each version of AutoPIPE: AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.00.xx and lower: C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries\readme_autopipe.htm After the file is open, see the "QA Reporting Notices" section for details. or AutoPIPE V8i 09.06.01.xx and higher: C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries\autopipe_readme.chm After the file is open, see the "Error History" section for details. Note: This option provides a a small amount of details about reported issues. For complete details about a published error and a complete list of errors, recommend jointing the QA&R program . Only users that belong to this group have privileges to see details about published issues and more. Or 2. If you belong to the QA&R program, see the following web page for complete access to error reports: http://selectservices.bentley.com/en-US/Support/Support+Tools/AutoPLANT+Error+Reports/ Note: In general, options #1 above provides limited information about selected issues that are available to the general public. From Nov 2014 to now, the AutoPIPE Product Manager, Luke Andrew, will issue an RSS news feed about Major and Critical issues. However, one of the many advantages about becoming a QA&R member is the ability to have 24 / 7 access to a detailed list of published errors and notifications sent by the QA&R manager when new Major / Critical issues occur. Why I cannot access AutoPIPE's error reports TR Number: 51552 Product: AutoPIPE V8i Version: 09.03.02.05 Area: General, Problem ID#: 51552, TROUBLEREPORT Solution 500000075188 QA&R users pay an extra fee each year for additional benefits (i.e. upgraded service in documentation, right to perform an on site audit, programming assurance, etc..). Most QA&R users are in the nuclear industry, and by Federal requirement must have full access to software's published errors (see C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries\readme_autopipe.htm> QA Reporting Notices section). Therefore, AutoPIPE's error reports service was developed and posted on our web site for easy access for our QA&R users. This site was supposed to be restricted to only QA&R users from the beginning, but our IT web site designers allowed access to all users. Over the years, everyone has had access to this extra service without paying for it. As you may or may not know, the rights to access this site has been restricted, as intended, to QA&R users only. If you would like more information about the QA&R program or would like to become a member please contact us and ask for Joanie Mayberry. Otherwise see the following link: What is QA&R? If you are a QA&R user who does not have access the to the AutoPIPE error reports, please contact your account manager and ask that they add your name & user logon to the list of accepted user who can access the site. This process may take a few days, because the account manager will verify your personal & company credentials to be a valid QA&R registered user is good standing. Then a email is sent to the website admin department to add your login details. Finally, this new information must be compiled and uploaded to the website, which occurs 1-2 times per a week. Thank you for your understanding. Can I Identify open issues against a version of AutoPIPE (ex.9.2.3.2)? After accessing the AutoPIPE reports web site (see C:\Bentley\AutoPIPE V8i SELECTseries\readme_autopipe.htm> QA Reporting Notices section), select the Error reports tab, must select a time frame to review. This will generate a report for all open/closed issues during the time period indicated. Notice the "Corrected Version" and "1st Affected Version" columns. Corrected Version = The AutoPIPE version in which this error was fixed. 1st Affected Version = The first AutoPIPE version that carried this error (subsequent versions were also carrying it until it got fixed) For an error to affect 9.2.3.2 both the following conditions should be true: 1. The corrected version is later than 9.2.3 i.e. 9.3.0, 9.3.1, 9.3.2 2. The 1st affected version is 9.2.3 or older i.e. 9.2.3, 9.2.1, 9.2.0, 8.9.0,….. The Open Error list is dynamic and displays current status of errors. Consequently, any errors that were Open at the release time of 9.2.3.2 may now have a Closed status after being fixed in a later release. Consequently, the View Open Items: option will create a list of Open items for the current commercial release only (v 9.3.2.5). To make sorting and reviewing easier, highlight and copy / paste all the information into MS Excel, where the data can be sorted as needed. Is there a way to export the report to Excel? Yes. Use Select All and then Copy/Paste to Excel. Some cleaning up may be required. What does Action Status - Tested OK and Evaluated mean? Tested OK = Defect has been fixed and passed testing. Evaluated Fix, Scheduled = Fix is in progress What do the Severity levels mean? Each reported issue is give a 1 of 4 severity levels, see the following definitions: Critical – an error is classified as “Critical” if either the following apply: A) Software operations and/or function are severely faulted that the software is “ unusable” or B) Analytically software module produces unconservative results which have been further evaluated in accordance with Quality Service Procedures as being reportable under 10CFR21. Major – a “Major” error is one which prevents the use of primary section(s) or feature(s) of the software and for which no feasible avoidance exists. Intermediate –an “Intermediate” error is either a) Any error which prevents the use of a primary function(s) and for which an avoidance exists, or b) Any error which prevents the completion of a secondary function and for which no avoidance exists. Minor – all miscellaneous error of any type not included in the above categories See Also Bentley AutoPIPE External Links Bentley Technical Support KnowledgeBase Bentley LEARN Server Comments or Corrections?
