Comments, Questions, and Answers about AutoPIPE Material Libraries:
Item #1 Question:
Can I migrating customize library files to newer versions of AutoPIPE?
Answer: The CAE development team is always manipulating the program to add new enhancements or fix known issues. As a result there is no way of knowing if any of the lirbrary files content / format has been changed / updated from the previous version(s).
Therefore as a rule of thumb, never use a library file from one version of AutoPIPE to another. Recommend getting the new library source file and coping the customized information into it. This procedure will ensure that your model is correct for the version of AutoPIPE being used.
Item #2, Question:
How can i review and make updates to the material library?
Answer: See the following link that applies to the version of AutoPIPIE being used:
A. Add New Material to Existing Library, AutoPIPE 6.0
B. Add New Material to Existing Library, AutoPIPE V8i v.9.0 and higher
Item #3,Question:
What references were used to createAutoPIPE's code and non-code material libraries?
Answer: refer to the online help for references used by AutoPIPE to create the libraries:
Please see the following AutoPIPE help section:
Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Reference Information> Libraries>
A. Standard Pipe Materials
B. Code Dependent Pipe Materials
Item #4,Queston:
How can I compare and see the difference between 2 different material libraries?
Answer: This cannot be done all at once at this level but can be accomplished in stages by using the following procedure:
1. In AutoPIPE, select Tools> Library> configure the dialog as shown below (select any library name listed)
Press OK button.
2. The document will automatically appear, use File> Save AS > Save a copy to a TXT filename or print a copy out.
3. Repeat steps 1 & 2, changing to a different Library Name.
4. Use a program like beyond compare or Ultra Compare to fid the difference between these libraries or manually compare print outs.
5. Repeat steps 1 - 4 as necessary for the different Table types between library names.
Another solution would be to use compare the actual material SPC files using a program like Beyond Compare or Ultra Compare to find the difference between the files.
