Applies To Product(s): AutoPIPE Version(s): ALL; Environment: N/A Area: Licensing Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group Date Logged & Current Version July. 2017 11.00.00.22 Problem: How to move an AutoPIPE license from one computer to another computer? Solution: There are 3 basic types of users: Non-Select, Select, and ELS. See the respective sections below for information on moving licenses between computers. Non-Select or Node-Lock A Bentley On-Site Admin or Bentley employee had checked out a license for one or more applications against your Bentley SelectSERVER. A license file was sent to the user who then imported it into LMT (License Management Tool). LMT controls what Bentley applications are licensed and for how long. In order to move a license from computer A to computer B as a Non-Select or Node-Lock user: step 1: Computer A must check the license back in. Note: application(s) do not need to be removed from Computer A step 2: Computer B, must download and install AutoPIPE and LMT step 3: Computer B, user must contact Bentley On-Site Admin requesting node-lock license for XXX application(s), also provide Computer B system name. Note: only Bentley On-Site Admin may contact Bentley Licensing group for this information. step 4: This person will then send a new license file for use on a computer who's name was provided in the previous step. This file will not work on any other computer system. step 5: Computer B, import new license file into LMT step 6: Start AutoPIPE and enable edition (Standard, Advanced, Nuclear) mentioned in LMT. Select or ELS Bentley Select and ELS users receive licenses from either a Bentley Hosted ServerSERVER or their own Deployed SelectSERVER. After installing the application and configuring LMT with the correct Server Name and Site Identification Key the application(s) can then be licensed. A Hosted or Deployed SelectSERVER holds a number of license in a pool (ex. 5 AutoPIPE licenses) for use by ny one in a group of people, 100's of users can have the same Server name and Site activation key. Once the contract quantity of license are used, the next user will still be able to get a license, however License usage above contracted numbers will be settled at the end of the month. Bentley On-Site Admins have complete control over what applications are available or restricted to a user through the LMT Site Activation key setting. In order to move a license from computer A to computer B as an Select or ELS user: step 1: Computer A, nothing needs to be done here. step 2: Computer B, must download and install AutoPIPE and LMT. step 3: Computer B, user must contact Bentley On-Site Admin requesting LMT settings that should be used. If you are the Bentley On-Site Admin, contact Bentley Licensing team for SelectSERVER settings. step 4: Start AutoPIPE and enable edition (Standard, Advanced, Nuclear) mentioned in LMT.
