Item #2: Why is it not possible to use elbows with HDPE pipe as with steel pipe? (Note from AutoPIPE Help: "For HDPE pipes, only Close and Wide are accepted options.") Answer:  At this time, AutoPIPE has only provided HDPE for B31.1 and ASME NC/ND and that uses the CC-N755-1 provisions. CC-N755-1 only permits miter bends for HDPE and provides B1 & B2 indices for miter and close bends only. Otherwise, you would need to have stress indices for your HDPE bends that could be manually entered. Item #3.  Is it possible to calculate HDPE pipe using any other (non-nuclear) code than N-755-1? Answer : yes it would be possible, define Non Standard (NS) Pipe, enter the correct values of allowable, modulus and other data required for calculations Item #4.  How to add Seismic load case "Seis Ind Cmb.1-HDPE{1}" for HDPE combinations for ASME 31.1 piping code? Answer :   Specifically, after analyzing the system, select Tools Combinations, Code combination tab, press the " Seismic Combs ." button, specify both a "Equivalent Seismic Wave Prop Case" (T1) and "Seismic Anchor Movement Case"  (S1) for each Comb 1-4, note "Soil Settlement Cases" are optional. Press OK button to close the dialog screen and press " Reset Default Only " button, now "Seis Ind Cmb.1-HDPE{1}" combination will appear in the "Combination" column. See online help and Documents folder in the AutoPIPE directory for "Tutorial-ASME_B311_With_HDPE.pdf" for more information.   Item #5.  How do I select HDPE pipe materials on the pipe properties dialog screen when I am using ASME B31.1 - 2012, with "Include ASME CC N-755-1 (HDPE)" option checked ON.  Answer: First be sure that on Tools Model Options General that the option is actually checked as shown above. Then the ONLY method to select HDPE material is by adding a new pipe property to the model, an exiting pipe property ID cannot be updated to use HDPE materials. When using Insert Pipe Property command the   after enabling this option a warning screen will appear: --------------------------- Confirm --------------------------- Pipe identifiers cannot be changed back to metallic piping after enabling the HDPE Material option.
