Solution: As mentioned in AutoPIPE help, Design Strain and Stress (BS 7159) are calculated by : Both the longitudinal and circular directions allowable values are computed. Ultimately, AutoPIPE will ascertain which value yields the most conservative outcome and output this as the allowable value.
