Hello HVN, They are different as you had mentioned, this information is covered in AutoPIPE's online help: Apply modulus ratio - This option allows the Ec/Eh ratio to be applied to the moments used in the expansion stress calculations. Hot modulus - Select the hot modulus case used for the analysis set. The hot modulus will affect the element stiffness and calculated displacements and would apply to all load cases including the gravity case. One thing to remember is that the when "Apply modulus ratio" is enabled it is multiplied by the "Hot modulus" setting and is only applied to the moments used in the expansion stress calculations. example: Amb = 70, E = 29.5 T1= 700, E = 25.5 With Apply modulus ratio = enabled Hot modulus = None Then Ec/Eh = (29.5 / 29.5) = 1 T1 calculated moment = 6373 Amb-T1 results = (1) * 6373 = 6373 Apply modulus ratio = enabled Hot modulus = T1 Then Ec/Eh = (29.5 / 25.5) = 1.57 T1 calculated moment = 5523 Amb-T1 results = (1.57) * 5523 = 6390 With the Apply modulus ratio setting disable, the ratio (Ec/Eh is not applied to the calculated moments in the code compliance report.
