In the design report it is stated that the opening N03.1 is not adequately reinforced for external pressure. Sallow. in this case is calculated with 3.299 MPa but according to the design report Fha for this shell section is 17.4696 MPa. Can you please explain why Sallow. is lower than Fha? If the hydrotest condition 'horizontal code pressure' is deleted the opening is adequately reinforced Sallow. = 38.681 MPa which is greater than Fha . Why? Answer: This issue was logged under TFS-D73031, Opening under external pressure on Heat Exchanger in ASME VIII div.2: wrong calculation of allowable hoop compressive membrane stress of a cylinder. This issue has been fixed in the AutoPIPE Vessel Maintenance Release 2 (v33.02.01.08) or higher. Please confirm / update your version of AutoPIPE Vessel to v 33.02.01.08 or higher. Item #2: There is an empty page only instead of report after a calculation in AutoPIPE Vessel output report, why? Answer: it is necessary to have installed Microsoft Office Word to display the results in a correct form (with graphs and other important information). The output reports are not supported by other word processing applications: i.e. Open Office, Libre Office, Apache Office, Wordpad, Notepad, and others. Item #3: "Body Flange and Cover" sub-section, How is DL calculated? Item #4: Why does the Packing Weight summary have a different count than shown in the model view for AutoPIPE Vessel? Item #5: Report option "Report determining case only" in the submenu "Report " appears to not be working correctly in AutoPIPE Vessel Item #6: When we compute a heat exchanger submitted to wind and earthquake and we select “report determining case only”, APV print lifted and erected cases whereas when we print all cases, the determining case is operating. Answer: This is a defect. It has been logged under TFS number 245117. For APV the determining case is the last case that changed something (a shell thickness for instance). Here nothing is changed and in this case, it should print the Operating cases (submitted to wind). But instead APV print the Lifted and Erected cases(Combination number 1 and 2 here). This will be fixed in next release. Item #7: When we compute local loads on cylindrical shell (Component Design), the error message is always displayed: “ 122 CHECKING DATA : Data in this file are obsolete, save it with the latest release to convert data or use a previous release.” What is generating this error? Answer in English: This is a defect and is logged under number 245127. The implementation of load cases has been extend to all kind of studies. In the case of a design component, this enhancement is not used, but generate unfortunately error message. This message has no influence on the result of the calculation (material not found, but not required here). This will be fixed in next release.
