Hi all, I have a beginner-level question, let's consider a point, say A10, wich rests on a +Z (upward positive) vertical support. The support exterts +3845 N on that point. Looking at the report I see that on the (+) side of A10 acts a force of +2234 N. I would then expect, for equilibrium arguments, a force of +1251 N on the (-) side of A10, as 1251+2234=3845. Instead the force on the - side is -1251N. So I miss somethig about the references on the two side of a point. aren't they the same? How can the force on the (-) side be directed downward?
