Q1. Whom can I contact with any questions regarding the AutoPIPE QA&R (Quality Assurance and Reporting) program? Answer: 1. QA&R Program Manager: Bruce Bader. email: Bruce.Bader@bentley.com 2. Contract or Sales: Joanie Mayberry email : Joanie.Mayberry@bentley.com , phone: (714) 685-6443 3. Software Quality Manager: Yaser Sohaib email: Yaser.Sohaib@bentley.com 4. Individual company designated points of contact When a company signs up to become a QA&R program member, a form 6-1-2, (Contact Personnel for "QA & Reporting" Subscriptions) is filled out. On this form are 4 categories for QA&R related deliverables. Each category must have a designated person(s) from your company to receive these deliverables (ex. they can all be the same person or different people for each of the 4 categories). Contact these people as needed. If you are unsure who is your point of contact at your company for a given category, send an email to one of the above 3 people asking for the information or file a Bentley Service Request referencing this wiki. Q2. What is the method for QA&R users to communicate potential AutoPIPE errors to Bentley ? Answer: All communications including potential errors should be reported to Bentley through service requests. Q3. What is the current version of the QA&R policy manual? How do I get a copy of it? Answer: The QA&R policy manual is sent to the point of contact specified on form 6-1-2, "Contact Personnel for "QA & Reporting" Subscriptions." It is then this person's responsibility to distribute it among company employees (only). In order to find out who your company's point of contact is, please send an email to one of the 3 people mentioned in the response to Q1 above. Once a new revision of the QA&R policy manual is ready, it is immediately sent out to the point of contact from each organization. These people will be able to answer questions about the latest policy manual version and if it is available to you electronically. Q4. What are the details of the installation testing package that Bentley provides for AutoPIPE in regards to how QA&R users can determine if AutoPIPE works properly after installation. Does Bentley provide acceptance criteria for the installation test results? Answer: Bentley provides 2 different utilities to test and validate AutoPIPE's installation: 1 . ATS (Acceptance Test Set) - only AutoPIPE QA&R users 2 . ITS (Installation Test Set) - all users Both utilities contain an automatic tool that runs a number of test models using AutoPIPE and compares the outcomes with pre-verified results. A successful comparison demonstrates that AutoPIPE is functioning as intended. ITS is a part of AutoPIPE's installer, thus available to all AutoPIPE users. However, the ATS is only made available to organizations that are a part of the QA program. The ATS runs more than 100 models, whilst the ITS only runs a few. Acceptance criteria for ATS/ITS test results are documented in the corresponding pdf manuals. Q5. What version of the AutoPIPE ATS (Acceptance Test Set) is currently available and how often does it get released? Answer: See ATS FAQ WIKI page here. Q6. Is AutoPIPE a 10CFR50 Appendix B certified application? Answer: AutoPIPE has been developed to comply with applicable portions of 10 CFR 50, Appendix B; 10 CFR 21; and ASME NQA-1. Remember that only AutoPIPE software installed from an official QA&R DVD sent by the QA manager has these certifications. AutoPIPE software downloaded off the internet does not meet these qualifications. Q7. Does AutoPIPE have a CofC (Certificate Of Compliance)? How can I get a copy of it? Answer : Are you apart of AutoPIPE QA program? If Yes see bellow: To get an official copy of an AutoPIPE CofC, p lease contact the QA&R Program Manager mentioned above. This person is the only one who can send out official documentation on the program. Please include complete contact information, company name, and AutoPIPE version number in use. Note: Both AutoPIPE and STAAD.PRO software are covered under Bentley Nuclear Quality Assurance program. Bentley's solutions for nuclear generation are widely used for safety-related applications. AutoPIPE's QA procedures have been and continue to be successfully audited by our major users since 2009. If No , see below: AutoPIPE CONNECT 11.00.00.22 and higher has a Validation Certificate Also, Bentley provides AutoPIPE Commercial users with an ITS (Installation Test Set) , so they can verify proper operation of AutoPIPE program once it has been installed on a computer. This feature is available in AutoPIPE 12.05.00.16 and higher. Use the Installation Test Set (Help > Install Test > Installation Test Set) command on the help ribbon. In addition, read the ITS documentation on how to use this feature. Q8. How are AutoPIPE error reports distributed? Answer: AutoPIPE monthly error report emails are sent to designated individual(s) as per the QA Form 6-1-2. This form is filed when signing up for the QA&R program. These points of contact can then distribute the reports to others in their organization as necessary. Note that monthly error reports are also posted to a private QA&R Community under the Bentley Communities website. Only designated individual(s) as per the QA Form 6-1-2 will have access to this community. If you are having troubles with accessing the private community, please click here . If you are not part of the QA program and are interested in learning more about it please send an email to the people above. Q9. What AutoPIPE feature are considered as Safety-Related? Answer: Please see the following AutoPIPE help section: Help > Contents> Search Tab> enter " AutoPIPE Functionality for QA Approvals " (without the quotes), See Also Bentley AutoPIPE

What is Bentley TSG? Bentley Technical Support Group (TSG) is dedicated to assisting our SELECT subscribers with technical problems encountered in Bentley applications. Technical problems include defects in the software, user errors, enhancement requests, and general problems associated with using Bentley’s software. TSG, however, is not responsible for training users on the proper use of our software. Most training issues ("How do I …") can be resolved by reading the Help files available with each application and through tutorials provided with the software. Our analysts are technically minded and reserved primarily for users who have production issues because of problems with the software or user inflicted errors. It would be detrimental to our users if our limited resources spent their time training users on how to use the software. Bentley has a Professional Services group who are dedicated to providing professional consulting and training. If you are interested in receiving formal training on any Bentley application, login to SELECT services Online http://www.bentley.com/en-US/training/products/ or contact your Account Manager. In addition, due to liability and lawsuit issues, Bentley TSG, cannot assist you in design decisions (ex. what material values should be used, how to fix over stress, what piping code should be used, etc..) or construction details established by individual clients, engineering firms, project documentation, and/or code specific documentation. Lasty, o nly versions of the program covered by our support policy are eligible for product support. Suggest that you download and update to the most recent version of the program from the Bentley Software Download website , then check to see if the problem has already been fixed. Applies To Product(s): AutoPIPE, Version(s): ALL Area: Piping Codes Original Author: Bentley Technical Support Group Problem: How to update AutoPIPE with a new piping code or a new Code Compliance Calculations? Can I use a different edition of the same code and get the same results until the new Piping code has been added to AutoPIPE? Solution: AutoPIPE does not support module updates. Another words, the piping codes available in each version of AutoPIPE are hard coded into the program and cannot be updated with copy/pasting a few files. A new version of AutoPIPE would need to be installed in order to see a different list of Piping codes / Code Compliance Calculations available in the program. Note: See the following WIKI page here for a list of current AutoPIPE versions available for download. Check the release notes for all new enhancements including new piping codes that may have been added. If you do not see a particular piping code needed for a project, please use instructions here to log a new IDEA.. Bentley TSG does not perform any kind of code evaluations between Piping Codes or different editions of the same Piping Code. Therefore we cannot comment on what code or edition should be used for your piping analysis. Ultimately it is the responsibility of the user to select a Piping Code and Edition to be used for a model's analysis. Please keep in mind that CAE development team is constantly updating the program based on users requests and industries acceptance. It is a considerable undertaking in both time and financial investment for programming, producing all background calculation in Mathcad, & QA&R testing for each new piping code added to AutoPIPE. Therefore, it may be sometime after a code release before it will appear in the program as an option, but it all starts with logging a new IDEA Question: When will an updated piping code appear in AutoPIPE? Answer: The most important date is when was the code actually published, do not just consider the code edition year. In most codes (Example ASME B31.3 - 2018) there is a page near the front of the document with copyright information. This page may contain the actually publication date, example - image below from ASME B31.3 - 2018 At this point, an new IDEA must be submitted where the development team evaluates it based on importance, number of people requesting the code, development effort, and determines if it will be added to a version update project (ex. 12.1, 12.2, etc). Whenever the version update project is started, all the scheduled work will be completed and thoroughly tested before the predetermined scheduled release date. Whenever an item fails testing, it goes back to development for rework and then must be resubmitted to testing again. Sometimes this is an iterative process until it passes and can be released in a new version of the program. Otherwise, all scheduled work that does not pass testing by the predetermined scheduled release date, will be completed in the next project. How long does this all take? it all depends on publish date, IDEA submitting date, number of people requesting, development time, QA testing, schedule release update project cycle, etc... Best case scenario, 4-6 months after publication release date. However, if it failed testing and development is already in the middle of another project, it may take 6-9 months from date of publication before it appears in the program. Again it all depends on factors mentioned above. As mentioned in ASME B31.3 2018, the code will NOT become effective until 6 months after the publication date. Meaning that ASME B31.3 - 2018 will not be in effect until April 2019, but this feature may be already in the program by that date. Furthermore, after being released, some codes are not immediately accepted by industry or governing bodies. It may take months or years before a code is accepted. By that time, another version may have been released. In summary, just because a code is available does not mean it is immediately put into the program. However, it all starts with submitting an official request for an new IDEA. The more people who ask for the same request and industry's acceptance will push development to get said feature into the program quicker. Question: A particular piping code edition is not available, plant was build listing code of record = ASME B31.1 - 1971 (1973 update), options or justification for using another code without performing a code reconciliation? Answer: The intent is not to change the Code of record with regards to the plant construction. However modifications performed to the plant 20+ years later usually can be completed if the specific project design code named was found to be more stringent / conservative than the original. Therefore suggest to a nalyze the project to a code edition currently available in AutoPIPE. Perform a manual evaluation of code calculations between the 2 code editions (i.e. code of record and selected code in the program). Validate any review with calculations being the same, more stringent / conservative or less conservative. Make changes to AutoPIPE's settings or allowable values as needed to meet the requirements of the project design. Problem: What enhancement / defects request have already been logged for AutoPIPE? Note: If an feature or bug has not been added to the program, For features, use instructions here to log a new IDEA. The more votes logged per an IDEA, the quicker the CAE development team will add that feature to the program. For bugs, use instructions here to create new Bentley Case and send all necessary information as mentioned on the WIKI to clearly explain the problem. In addition, AutoPIPE's development priorities are based on strict rules: number of user requests, merit, importance, available resources, a clear scope of the IDEA requirements, impact on other part of the program, time required to implement, ROI, existing backlog, etc... The most important step, letting us know what you need. Solution: Remember to review the Bentley AutoPIPE Release Notes and the following AutoPIPE help section: Help > Contents> Contents Tab> Getting Started > Revision History (contains a list of features added in different versions of AutoPIPE, starting with v6.20.09) Otherwise, see the following subcategories for logged Enhancements and Defects: Piping Code Static Analysis Pipe and Piping Components Combinations Dynamic Analysis Support Reporting Wind Grids Stress Isometric Wave Library Export Soil Load Settings Import Flange Analysis Toolbars and Menu "Edit" commands Rotating Equipment Operating System Software "View" commands TTA Analysis Graphic Technology Preview X-tra Data Beam Hydrotest See Also Known issues Bentley AutoPIPE

I'm impressed to see the versatility of construction estimating services expanding into specialized industries like dryer manufacturing. It's fascinating to think about the application of Microprotol software in estimating the production of dryers, including various types like Paddle Dryers, Rotary Dryers, Vibrating Fluid Bed Dryers, Fluid Bed Dryers, Band Dryers, and Flash Dryers. The precision and efficiency of such software can undoubtedly enhance the accuracy of cost estimates, streamline production planning, and ultimately contribute to better project management. This is a great example of how technology is revolutionizing not only traditional construction but also related sectors. It's exciting to envision the possibilities and synergies that arise from such innovations.

Greetings, Typically, the segment direction controls which side of the segment has new node point names. The upstream side of the node will remain the same and all downstream node points will have a new Node point name. Kevink, was correct, if you do not like the naming; undo the command, use reverse segment command, and split the segment again. Answer: These values are not user input values or calculated values by the program. These values are referenced by the Allowable Bolt Load table at Room Temp or At Design Temp for the clamped flanges. One can review the referenced table in AutoPIPE Vessel Help; Body Flange and Cover Properties - Body Flange Tab> Allowable Bolt Load> At Room Temp, At design Temp, in Test Temp. In order to change this values, make modifications to the model that affect the Allowable Bolt Load look up; specifically Bolt Dia and / or Temperature.
